Tournament Rec Rules
Any players of any age/gender/skill level are welcome to participate.
No University or Collegial players are allowed to play in the Recreational divisions.
Teams are responsible to make calls, please be vigilant; Only team captains are to dispute
calls or discuss issues with other team reps. If both captains can’t agree then a re-serve.
Men’s 4’s and Women’s 4’s will go by Rec. Rules not Competitive Rules.
Block does count as a touch, Players can volley the ball on first contact.
Players can open hand tip, a guy can not block a girl. (This is permitted in Comp).
Matches will be 3 sets to 21, win by 2. All 3 sets are always played no matter what.
For final ranking and tie breaking procedures, the following will now be used…
1) If only 2 teams tied…Head to Head
2) If more than 2 teams tied…Win/Loss Ratio…(4-0 vs 3-1)
3) Rally Point Ratio…total points/sets
4) Total +/- Points
Only registered players are able to participate in the tournament. All teams must submit
their final players list including any potential substitutions by the end of registration. No
additions or changes will be allowed after that point. (Friday at 5:00 pm)
1st set forfeited after 15 min and the match after 30 min. !!! Unless team is tied up in
another game. Also does not include “”Sundays Playoffs””
Again Sundays may have to be jiggled a bit with teams in multiple divisions. Be patient.
Due to weather or other delays, some matches may have to be rescheduled or cancelled.
There will be a 1 minute break in between each set. Should be 5-10 minutes between games.
All Courts will be marked and will have game cards to record your scores after each match.
Please make sure both team Reps. sign off on the score and these cards are to droped off
at the Tournament office by winning team.
All standings and game scores will be posted on the Facebook site after each night and as
well after any division is complete.
Scoring… Rec…1 point for each set win.
Winning Team is responsible for score card to be marked.
Make sure game # and winner is clearly written.
